| MAR DE BATALHA | The only remaining sand beach of Calheta is located in our district in a small protected bay. It is a favored romping place for school kids during the summer months. The sand beach is 5 minutes away by walking from the accommodation. | |
| MAR DE CALHETONA | The beach of Calhetona makes for an excellent swim in the surf. The current always flows towards the bank. The beach is 10 minutes off in walking distance from the accommodation. On Sinza (Ash Wednesday) all local people gather there to celebrate. | |
